For those of you who do know what GIS is, it is Geographical Information Systems. A GIS integrates hardware, software, and data for capturing, managing, analyzing and displaying all forms of geographically referenced information. GIS is pretty much a part of everyone’s life now and a lot of people do not even realize it. The GIS products that you may be using everyday are Google maps, Google Earth etc. There are lots of GIS products out there, which can be very useful, and a lot of times it is free to use for individuals. My goal is to post about those free GIS products that will be of use to most people. Hope to help out at least a few people in finding some exciting GIS products.
